Some say that not thinking is a central important thing in Zen. Maybe even key.
So how do you stop thinking? I can think of 2 ways.

Focus on something so intensely that you have no attention left over for thinking.

Become very conscious of the act of thinking, so it becomes less of a habit and more of a choice, then choose to refrain from thinking.
