Can anyone put a name on the experience I had?
A few months ago, I attended my first ever renzai zen sesshin. After about three days of seriously working on a koan, my mind went into this strong shift. The voice and TV in my head was about 1/10th as present, and my vision became very "clear" so to speak, not that my eye-sight had improved, but more that I had near-effortless attention on all things visible. My hearing was also improved and music sounded super clear. It felt like the warmth of weed mixed with a laser-focus. This state lasted for about a week and a half.
I initially thought this was some sort of satori or samadhi, but I was doubtful I was using those words correctly. I tried asking a nun at the temple and she just said "Sometimes you don't even need to label it anything" which honestly I thought was a great response. I didn't bother asking the roshi because it didn't feel like a polite question or use of dokusan time.
I know buddhism isn't really into making labels but if anyone wanted to take a shot explaining the state, it would be appreciated.
