Assertion: A buddha is not a tathagata.

Using terms, a buddha is not the same as a tathagata.

The term buddha refers to an awakened being. One that has seen their nature and why it is that.

A tathagata is one using that, entering and exiting without entering or exiting (building a temple / leaving a void). Gautama was called the buddha but called himself the tathagata. I see this a completion. Many buddha lifes have occured here. When a buddha life has become a tathagata life, traceless sits revealed.
