How do you have faith in your cynicism and colonialist reductionist attitudes towards Japanese Zen?
Everything you know and love about the school was preserved by the monasteries and monastics you hate so much.
It's almost like they were always one and the same, you just don't get it because you read the texts but don't live in the temples.
Why is Dogen railed about here when Keizan is WAY more influential than him? That you have an enlightenment and then spend the rest of your life deepening it, like the masters all taught?
It's because r/zen is delusional and hijacked.
