Robe colour - what colour did masters and monks wear and why?

Mala beads - did masters and monks wear mala bead necklace/braclets?

Diet - did masters and monks all stick to a strict diet like vegetarian, I’m sure I read that Huineng stayed with a group of hunters and ate the vegetables after they had been cooked with the meat? - I’ll have to check that one.
