僧問大龍。色身敗壞。如何是堅固法身
Once, a Preceptor asked Dalong, "The physical body is subject to decay; what is the stable body of truth?
龍云。山花開似錦。㵎水湛如藍。
Dalong replied, “A mountain flower blooming appears as like brocade; the crystal waters of a mountain stream surpass even indigo.
This isn't Buddhism we're dealing with, or any kind of mind-pacification religion of silently sitting or reciting secret codeword answers to "pass" koans.
Fengxue's instruction on passing through without getting stuck says, “I oft remember Jiangnan in Spring. The screeching pheasants, the fragrant flowers.”
Is the instruction between the two same or different? If you say it's the same, the words on the page indict you; saying it's different is setting them at odds.
Come on!
