Buddhism and Bigotry: It's all in the (lack of) definition

Every few weeks somebody from elsewhere on Reddit wanders in here and claims Zen is Buddhism. These people can never define "Buddhism", unlike r/zen: /r/zen/wiki/buddhism

Zen Masters do not teach the Eightfold Path

I'm forced to conclude that anybody who says Zen is Buddhism and then is unable to define Buddhism, let alone quote Zen Masters, is involving themselves in bigotry. It might be accidental or it might not, but either way, to represent Zen's 1,000 year historical record without quoting it is the same kind of bigotry we've seen over and over again against any minority, historical or present day.

Where are the Four Statements discussed on Reddit?

How many people talk about Zen in terms of the Four Statements in the sidebar anywhere else on Reddit? Not discussing them in detail or their links to the texts, as we have over and over and over again, but even mention the Four Statements?

The fact that identifying Zen as different from Buddhism is instantly censored in forums all over reddit only serves to underscore how prevalent this bigotry is.
