Clearys' BCR case 88 pointer:
The established methods of our school are thus: they break two into three. For profound talk entering into principle, you too must be piercing and penetrating.
If you really do not like the number "two" your choices are 1) lower the number, or 2) raise the number.
There is one issue with the quotation. Who are "they"? The first sentence transitions from "our" to "they". I think there is room for improvement in Clearys' translation of that line. Maybe it is just as vague in the original language? That would be a worthwhile note too.
