I started out with the intention of going in a specific direction with this post, but then I got to reading some quotes about how we are all Buddha, about how the mind is Buddha, and then I got confused, then I remembered about how Foyan urges the reader to use confusion as an entry point, then I looked at my confusion for a while, and looked some more, then some more.. Then I realised that confusion is only confusing while you maintain an end goal in mind, if you forget the end goal, like I just did, then the confusion turns into something else.
Here is a selection of quotes from Zenmarrow about how the mind is Buddha.

1.. The Master once said:
"If you say 'this very mind is buddha,' you provisionally accept the slave as master and life-and-death (samsara) as nirvana. This is precisely like cutting off one's head in pursuit of life. Talking about buddhas and founders and their respective intentions is just like snatching away your own eyeballs while looking for soap berries."

2 .. A monk asked National Teacher Wuye, "What is Buddha?" The National Teacher said, "Don't think falsely."
Xuedou cited this and said, "He's blocked the nostrils."
Another monk asked, "What is Buddha?" The National Teacher said, "Mind itself is Buddha."
Xuedou cited this and said, "He stays the tongue."

3.. Daibai asked Baso, "What is the Buddha?" Baso answered, "The mind is the Buddha."

It seems that there are different opinions, coming from various Masters as to whether the mind is Buddha, or at least a few agreed, yet Yunmen here tells the questioner that to say that the mind is Buddha is like accepting the slave as master.. Why is that?
It is because, to set up this mind as a Buddha is to set up an ideal, a separate thing called mind, a thing that we search for, apart from ourselves..
Ask a fish what water is and he probably won't know..
I'm doing a car boot sale on Sunday, I should probably sell all my books on Zen.
