This is notebook I've got so far: https://www.reddit.com/r/zen/comments/iccj0v/zen_precepts_no_nest/
- No nest:
- Dharma combat
- Doing the work; Turning the light around
- Taking refuge
- Passing beyond study
- Doubt
In the grand old tradition, my interest is in the glue pot, rather than in whether people take these precepts at all, take them seriously, or formally take them, etc.
Obviously these precepts won't be tolerable to religious people, that's a glue pot.
Obviously these precepts can stir up some debate about the importance of Zen Masters to Zen, that's a glue pot.
Obviously people who don't study Zen are going to be confused about what these precepts refer to... that's a glue pot.
My plan seems to be to write about each precept, linking it to texts and discussing what it means to be serious about each of them in the context of personal experience.
Did I leave anything off? A few of you have read a book... what do you say?
