When thought is in bondage the truth is hidden, for everything is murky and unclear, and the burdensome practice of judging brings annoyance and weariness. What benefit can be derived from distinctions and separations
Paragraph from the Xin Xin ming.
T. O. M's comment..
This basic principle is one of the foundations of zen..
And for the short time that I've been here on r/zen I could never figure out, why so many users are adamant that their way, is the only way, their opinions are the only ones that count..
Being opinionated and judgemental are in direct opposition to this paragraph from one of the earliest zen texts.. Its a current theme also, that a lot of users here seem to forget..
This Is why I've decided to block a lot of users, from now on, I won't be getting drawn into debates, turning my Unborn mind into a fighting spirit..
The next time a troll, or zen zealot gives you some stick over your opinions or beliefs, don't engage with em.. Just block them suckers, go talk with someone who is more open minded, open to discussion and then, maybe, r/zen will become a place more suited to learning the whole breadth of zen, and not just a narrow take on it.
Disclaimer.
These are just, like, my opinions man.
Peace.
