Being in the moment?

Aside from during meditation, how often are you trying to be in the moment and not get caught in the chatter of the mind?

When i'm reading ill try and focus entirely on the book, same with watching tv or any other activity which you can benefit from by concentrating.

But what about when you're preparing food, going for a walk, in the shower etc? And what if you find thinking during these times to be quite enjoyable?
