Standard AMA question 1:
Suppose a person denotes your lineage and your teacher as Buddhism unrelated to Zen, because there are several quotations from Zen patriarchs denouncing seated meditation. Would you be fine saying that your lineage has moved away from Zen and if not, how would you respond to being challenged concerning it?
I don't think buddhism and zen are unrelated. Meditation, and practice-enlightenment in general, however, are not the way. I didn't need quotes to find this out, but they sure help clarify it.
Standard AMA question 2:
What text, personal experience, quote from a master, or story from zen lore best reflects your understanding of the essence of zen?
I don't think the essence of zen is best caught in texts.
Standard AMA question 3:
What do you suggest as a course of action for a student wading through a "dharma low-tide"? What do you do when it's like pulling teeth to read, bow, chant, sit, or post on r/zen?
This question contradicts question 1. If you don't feel like posting etc, don't.
There are no highs and lows in the dharma.
Extra:
I had other accounts here before. I'll list them in case anyone's interested; RealityWarper01, FlameBlood, EtherealAppirition, BlazingEye, UniversalFabric, [Some number sequence, can't remember] and LuminousAwareness
Never used 2 accounts at the same time in 1 sub.
