One day a monk came to bid farewell to Master Joshu.
The master asked, "Where are you going?"
The monk said, "I'm going to visit various places to study the way of awakening."
Joshu said, "Be careful not to get stuck in a place where there is an awakened one. And quickly pass by a place where there is no awakened one. Whomever you meet, be sure not to misguide them."
After a pause the monk said, "Hearing that, I think I'll just stay here."
The master said, "Then go pick up the willow blossoms."
