Issues with my discipline "just do something" - Suzuki

In the past I've had issues meditating every day. I've been consistent as of late and I can feel my practice progressing. Suzuki says in the book that "you dont have to remember a single thing that I say to you in our talks as long as you sit."

Something that I enjoy doing is lifting weights. It is a dream of mine for after college(and years of working) to own a gym, train, and compete in powerlifting.

I have not been going to the gym. My current program is three days a week,Monday wednesday Friday. I can get a day in but I begin to create excuses and push it off until i dont end up going, which ultimately leads to my programming not working as it should and me losing strength.

Suzuki says to not think of things as good or bad but to think of things as "to do or not to do. What is important is that you do something." My mind thinks of lifting and meditating as things that I need to do. I dont believe that this is right thinking.

I want to go to the gym but I am not. What is the zen way of thinking about this?
