In the “Robin 101” episode of the show How I Met Your Mother, the character Ted Mosby observes a fairly well known glitch in language; as he repeats a word again and again, in this case “bowl”, he discovers that meaning becomes disconnected from it.
Words refer to concepts, and as words are deconstructed their corresponding concepts are as well. I think this idea could be applied to non-verbal concepts as well, and is perhaps done already in some meditation practices. I think of comparing repeating a word again and again to larger concepts like duality and self, and take the metaphor to mean that a repetitive and sustained examination of these concepts could lead to their deconstruction. Or more simply, could lead one to experience the suchness of reality without the constraints of self and other.
