I have been studying Doshin Micahel Nelson Roshi lately and I think his concept of shadow is very interesting. It is the idea that there are these parts of ourselves which we cannot see, and if we could we would not want to see, that must be dealt with. Every person has a dark side and his words make me think that perhaps simply trying to subvert that dark side is not the best answer.
Are there any thoughts on this concept?
