Is Western Zen mostly Japanese derived?

When encountering Zen in the West, it seems like one normally encounters a Japanese version of it. Terms like zendo, roshi, koan and sesshin are used, all of which are Japanese.

How true is this in your experience? I know that there are non-Japanese Zen groups out there, like The Kwan Um School of Zen (Korean seon) and Thich Nhat Hanh's Order of Interbeing (Vietnamese thien) and some Chinese chan groups, but it seems that when the word 'Zen' is used in the West, it is normally referring to Japanese Zen.
