Non-duality and the suspension of the ego - does that result in no "self"?

Over the years through life experience, zen practices and self-introspection, I feel like I have reached a major realisation - enlightenment and transcendence if you will.

Ultimately, nothing matters. Everything is relative. It is not how hard we try, but how hard we look. Happiness (or rather, warm contentment where you allow yourself to fully experience joy) comes from within and is shared relationally.

I do not care for the scriptures society prescribes that work against natural humanistic instincts. Namely, materialism and competitiveness, which is the ultimate expression of the ego manifested from the concept of the self.

My body is a floating vessel for my mind. I am a seeing person who experiences the present. I only seek to satisfy my immediate curiosity by allowing the current of the river to take me where it will - the journey is just as, if not more exciting than the destination itself.

Is this the ultimate definition of humanity? If one surrenders themselves totally to their surroundings, do we really exist? Physically, we exist as individuals where we vary greatly due to differing biologic compositions, yet are united by the mind and emotions. To what extent should we seek to "lack a self"?
