The more research you put into these types of dogen schools and how they approach meditation is that they focus on extinction, which is not what zen masters talk about; dogen schools talk about extinction because they cannot face it directly.
Natural meditation is a cultural historical exercise, its an expression of that light in us, but the opposite is dogen related, that we must serve meditation(prayer) in order to one day have this light come, even though that pointless refuge is what the light is anyways, unknowingly traceless.
