New, what to learn?

Hey guys, I'm new here. I have some kind of interest in understanding how I work. "I" being a loose, just-verbal concept. I read in this sub for some hours and I like the subtle notions in some of the posts here. I noted there is some controversy regarding "ewk" but I have to admit, from what I read I like his oppositionist answers more than the preaching ones of others. I also liked the posts of "Devin" if that helps to locate me.

So, my question is the following: Do you think that I, who has never dabbled in zen or buddhism (I don't even know differences), am in any way lagging behind compared to you on the way to whatever you define as your mental, spiritual destination? And if so, what important topics do I have to understand in your opinion?

Sorry, I'm not used to writing in english and I also know that this is an outsider question and pretty vague.

Thank you, best regards!
