I'm curious to chat with any users here who have a solid seated meditation practice. Maybe I can pick your brain on a couple of points like delayed onset bliss, the relationship between duration and momentum in the practice, and to what degree you are forgiving with yourself with respect to your practice, i.e.,
Do you attempt to rigorously use the technique for the whole duration of the sit, or do you let yourself fall into states of meditation by waiting around for your mind to quiet itself (akin to the captured stallion that runs in circles until it realizes it's not going anywhere), or something in between. I'm also curious to know how much you rely on instruction and tradition in Zen specifically.
Thanks
