Is there anyone who talks about confusion on in Zen Practice?

I've been semi studying Zen off and on for years. Starting officially with Brad Warner's Hardcore Zen and reading Zen philosophy off and on from various writers. Before then, I just had experience in a Soto Zen center in Atlanta called Zenspace which has since shut down (I only attended their meditations and not their Sunday morning events).

I don't know why I had to explain all that.

I've been getting confused in the last few days. I haven't meditated in about a week but, I'm still applying what I learned from it. Last meditation, I realized that I didn't didn't have to let stress effect me and, just like how I can deal with physical pain and/or discomfort and let it pass, I can deal with stress the same. Not ignoring the pain/stress but, acknowledging it without attachment. I've found that after I do this I have a sort of blank state. As if, I've let go of everything. I'll just be there kinda confused about what my next step in the day is or lose motivation to make a next step. It's as if I'm only driven by my stress and letting go of it is the same as throwing my daily map away.

I'd like to know if any Zen philosophers have talked about this Effect.
