What is Zen really about?

I remember when I first met my teacher. I asked him, as anyone would, "What is Zen really about? Can you explain it to me?”

After my question, my teacher became silent for what seemed a long time. I was sitting on a zafu at the time. I straightened up my back b/c it was starting to get tight. Eventually, my teacher spoke. He wanted me to move my head back and forth then clap my hands. I did has he asked.

He said that this is what Zen is all about. But I still didn't get what he meant.

Then he said, "One day you will learn what moves that body of yours around. You have no idea what it is right now. But soon you will learn."

Then I began to feel something strange when I looked at him. It was like an energy or force that was coming from him. In a few seconds (perhaps it was longer) he just smiled.
