I came here expecting something noble. Images of Japanese temples and Zen gardens in my mind, the words of Alan Watts echoing in my ears. Instead, I found something akin to a kindergarten without any teachers — just a bunch of kids bashing each other over the head with big and fancy words.
I could say it's more like the Chinese approach to Zen — like those Shaolin Kung Fu movies with Jet Li, where monks are consistently playing tricks on each other to keep from falling asleep out of boredom. But I'm afraid you guys lack the creativity and grace.
Every single post always draws the same assortment of comments. Someone will violently disagree. Someone will discredit the source. Someone will insult the OP. Someone will inevitably call someone a religious troll.
You're no better then the rest of Reddit, you think you are because you can quote some dead Japanese guy most people have never heard of.
You're like crabs in a bucket who keep pulling each other down, afraid that one of them might make it out.
So long /r/Zen, I'm outta here.
