"Nurture your awareness, and attachments will come to an end."

Bodhidharma:

"to go from mortal to buddha, you have to put an end to karma, nurture your awareness and accept what life brings... once mortals see their nature, all attachments end. awareness isn't hidden. but you can only find it right now. it's only now. if you really want to find the way, don't hold on to anything. nurture your awareness, and attachments will come to an end. understanding comes naturally, you don't have to make any effort."

"once you recognize your moving, miraculously aware nature, yours is the mind of all buddhas."

"this mind has no form or characteristics, no cause or effect, no tendons or bones. its like space. you can't hold it. no mortal, no deluded being can fathom it."

i added the last two quotes to give this post a little more meat, but i want to focus on the phrase nurture your awareness, and attachments will come to an end. i take it to mean being present will slowly erode impediments to clarity (kleshas)... but how? by practicing mindfulness?

how do you guys nurture you awareness? what specific techniques have we found to nurture awareness since Bodhidharma spoke these words?
