My Zen–Inspired Poem:

Remnants of a lenient zephyrs’ embrace subtly dwindle. The billowing clouds scatter and recede into the backbone of the far-reaching mountains– my mind reverberating with echoes of soft pattering on the now saturated soil. My eyes hitherto remain veiled behind my vapor-swathed spectacles, as crepuscular rays lay bare– resting upon the clouds. White rhododendrons lay beneath my toes, sunken downwards as my feet remain perched upon what is now sullied earth. My mind attends to the dying patterns of the winds of what is observed by all, catalyzed by none. Remaining in the solitude of the boundless expanse of the world, I hold myself perpendicularly firm against the ceaseless rage of the heavens. Witnessing the gusts’ momentary kiss of farewell to this barren and desolate place, waves viciously crash upon the banks of the shore. The surging wrath of the currents unwillingly bid adieu, chained by its own unprecedented magnitude. As the elements of the universe command yet another day to a close, the reminder of the Earth’s warm kiss remains– unperturbed in the recesses of my mind. In this long awaited convergence of time and space, I remain but a bystander– a spectator of the eddying orchestration of life. With this fleeting valediction, the tides began to ebb, the breeze gently progress toward the poles, and a faint white luminescence manifests itself in the heavens. I remain but a momentary bystander in the modality of life as the white rhododendrons sullenly limp, illuminating the obscurity of night.
