One of the longstanding feuds between Zen and Buddhism is that Buddhists believe that there is no essential "you", which includes you not having a soul or a Buddha nature.
This is why Buddhists reject the Zen teaching of original enlightenment... because how can you be originally enlightened if you have no "you"?
This comes up immediately in the Buddhist Catechism, or statement of essential faith-based beliefs, and this belief in "no you" is found throughout Buddhism: /r/zen/wiki/buddhism
Zen teachings, The Four Statements of Zen for example, all talk about original enlightenment, about you already being a Buddha. Even before you were born.
What did your face look like before you were given birth to? It sounds like a silly nonsense question until you realize it is a question which inherently rejects the Buddhist faith.
Lots of Buddhists (like this guy) are reluctant to talk about their catechism because any discussion of it causes them to heart attacks at the same time, proving Zen isn't Buddhism, and proving that Buddhists can't agree on what Buddhism is. That's the reason that internet Buddhists refuse to address (a) the catechism of their religion, and even (b) What real Buddhists actually living the life have to say about the Buddhist faith: /r/zen/wiki/buddhism

Yo͞ok Welcome! Meet me My comment: It really gets weird when we talk about karma. Zen Masters reject karma, arguing that it's simply a delusional way to look at things: http://home.pon.net/wildrose/gateless-2.htm
Buddhists see karma as almost identical to Christian sin: You have it from past lives, you get it from being bad, and you will be punished for it after body death. It sounds like BS in this modern age, especially since only a priest can tell you if you have karmic sin or take away the karmic sin you have, but consider this: If there is no you, then how can you have a karmic sin account?
Don't forget, the reason Buddhists believe in karma? Their bible says so. Guess which famous sex predator Japanese Buddhist did repentance ceremonies with the hope of cleansing himself of karmic-sin?
