A monk asked Zhaozhou, " 'The culmination of the Way is without difficulty—it is only avoiding picking and choosing'—is this not a nest or cave for people today?"
Zhaozhou said, "Someone once asked me this—this old monk has been unable to comment for five years or more."

Firmly unable to comment for five years,
Carrying Great Tang in a leaf boat,
In amongst the billowing waves, vast and distant,
Who knows what other fine thoughts are worth considering?
