Song of Attesting to Enlightenment: Verse 2

2 | 法身覺了無一物。本源自性天真佛。五蘊浮雲空去來。三毒水泡虛出沒。

When one knows what the Dharma-body is, there is not an object [to be known as such], The source of all things, as far as its self-nature goes, is the Buddha in his absolute aspect; The five aggregates ( skandha ) are like a cloud floating hither and thither with no fixed purpose, The three poisons ( klesa ) are like foams appearing and disappearing as it so happens to them.

(D.T. Suzuki)

When the Dharma body awakens completely, There is nothing at all. The source of our self-nature Is the Buddha of innocent truth. Mental and physical reactions come and go Like clouds in the empty sky; Greed, hatred, and ignorance appear and disappear Like bubbles on the surface of the sea.

(Aitken & Shimano)

When awakened to the Dharmakaya there is no thing; The source of intrinsic nature is the true Buddha. The five aggregates4 come and go like clouds in the sky, The three poisons appear and disappear like bubbles.

(Balcom)

To understand to the Body of the Truth doesn’t consist of awakening to a single thing, for the origin of its nature is identical to the ultimate Buddha. The Five Aggregates are akin to clouds coming and going across the empty sky; the Three Poisons are likewise akin to water bubbles appearing and dispersing.

I started a comparative translation of Yongjia's Song of Attesting to Enlightenment. Feedback? Anyone need footnotes?
