Again, the Master went to Zhuyu's quarters, gazing up and down. Zhuyu said, "While bearing level ground, what else occurs?"
The Master said, "Only becoming rough-hearted."

I though I'd take a look at this, given the difficulties of Zhaozhou's translations. This is what I think he is saying; Zhuyu asks what else becomes of one who maintains equanimity (perhaps by forcing material circumstances?) and Zhaozhou says it makes a person mean.
As I pointed out yesterday, the character 麤 doesn't really give the sense of "barbarian" or " wild", like 胡 does, but rather "rough/coarse/crude, unrefined/vulgar."
I chose "heart" for 心 because I think it makes more sense to an English speaker, though heart/mind/thoughts/phenomena/the six senses etc. are all mixed up together.

Shuyu said, "If you stumble on level ground, what will become of you?"
