Wansong says, "The Sanskrit word Samadhi means eqiulibrium--not oblivious, not agitated, remaining equanimous."

欽山與雪峯。巖頭坐次。洞山行茶。欽山閉眼 ' Once, while Yantou was sitting with Jingshan and Xuefeng, Dongshan brought them all some tea. Yantou then closed his eyes.
洞山云。甚處去來。
Dongshan asked, “Where did you come from?”
云。入定來。
Yantou replied, “From entering stability.”
洞山云。定本無門。從何而入。
Dongshan said, “Stability is originally gateless, from where can you enter?
No gate to stability...
This is doctrinally problematic for:
a) Vein Bleeders-- Those espousing seated prayer rituals as historically originating from, and therefore doctrinally compatible with, the Zen Gate of Truth.
b) Cowherds -- Anyone insisting upon a fundamental necessity to 'subdue and control' a monkey/ego/sin-infested mind to escape the "reality" of suffering...and thereby enter a magic realm of stability.
c) Imps -- Those insisting that "Stability" must be understood in light of viewing reality from the perspective of a stable 'doctrine of impermanence'.
How about bringing up something doctrinally problematic to your next Zen tea party?
(This is your next Zen tea party.)
