Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana, the three vehicles! Just a mental note from studying.
Vehicle: that which transports you from one destination to another. ej: a car, a boat, a ship.
For one vehicle might only take one passenger, another vehicle may be suited for all sentient beings. And the dharma which Gautama Buddha taught might look different from Zen but culturally is all related. Just search Buddhist terms in /zen to see how much you will learn. That's how intertwined these concepts are.
Lin Chi, taken from Five Houses of Zen
"Just do not allow any more interruptions at any time, and everything that you see is It. Just because feelings arise, knowledge is blocked; changes in conceptions result in changes in actualities. That is why you keep repeating the same routines in the world and suffer a variety of miseries. " The seed of karma or the wheel, the wheel of change, that goes forward. is the ever present, are you are confined to it in space-time. but it is confined to you and to your actions as they generate the same ever-present (one mind, heart mind, buddha nature, buddha mind, etc) --------- "In my view, nothing is not extremely profound; nothing is not liberated. The reality of mind has no form but pervades the ten directions. In the eyes it is called seeing, in the ears it is called hearing, in the nose it smells, in the mouth it speaks, in the hands it grips, and in the feet it steps. Basically it is a single spiritual light, differentiated into a sixfold combination. Once the whole mind is as nothing, you are liberated wherever you are. " OP Commentary: We will find ourselves in routine, as there will also be out there those that are not confined by routine. Is not being confined by routine "enlightment"? That's a type of question one may ask and it will lead you to a certain point. "Nothing is not liberated." Just as things are, no sentient beings to preach to...all functions are within the mind function. The all pervading, the essence, the truthness of it all. And you go out into the world knowing this, and act upon your liberation. Free to come and go, but you are also conscious of actions, the social mechanisms, laws, and so on and so forth. We could spend some good time talking about action and reaction, or action and consequences but that scope is beyond my main point.
