Spoiler: story is - parents sent wayward son to serve the master there was no use for him at home; master did not reproach him but one day when he was tying the master’s shoe or strapping a sandal or picking something up a warm drop landed on the youth’s shoulder, the youth looked up apparently the master regarding the youth had shed a tear - from that point the youth began to change - Zen or Taoist story - where did I read it?
