Thinking and talking are the leaves and branches of our conciousness, these are blown around by circumstances.... Sengcan says to return to the root.. The steadfast root of the mind that is not changing, the root through which the entire tree is nourished.
Can you get a feeling for being more in tune with this root? For the place where you will find Meaning?

More and more i find myself less inclined to discuss abstract stuff, I can barely be arsed to type this out. Even though I do enjoy the discussion here at r/zen, I know it has little to do with zen, and more about propping up our desire to be recognised as someone who understands zen, and even a way of legitimising our feeble beliefs.
Maybe this is why, someone famously said that the Buddha is an arse wiping stick.
