Wumen offers more instructions which we could all follow

Since a certain Redditor has promised to quit Reddit in order to devote all his spare time to following Wumen's instructions, as outlined here, I think we should all learn from this experience and take seriously the rest of the instructions Wumen has provided... you know, in the other 47 instructions that a certain Redditor won't be getting to since he is going to spend all his spare time from now on following the directions from the instructions on the first Case... because what's better than enlightenment? What could any of us offer the world that could be more significant than enlightenment?

To whit, courtesy of Wonderwheel, who translated these instructions with some help from Sekida... neither of whom could follow them:

Venerable Xiangyan said, "It is like a man up a tree hanging on a tree branch held in his mouth. He can’t use his hands to climb up the branch; his feet cannot step on the tree. It happens that below the tree a person asks, ‘What is the meaning of the coming from the West?’ To disregard the other who questions is immediately not correct. If on the other hand, you are correct, your body is dead and your destiny is lost. At that time what is appropriate; what can you put forth for a correct life?”

Wumen Says: Even if it happens that you can suspend a river of discernment, you do not manifest the whole use. If you are able to expound the teachings of the one great Buddhist scripture, again you do not manifest the use. [If you solve this problem, you will give life to the way that has been dead until this moment and destroy the way that has been alive up to now]. Can’t you possibly be straight like that? Then, wait until the coming and ask Maitreya.

Fortunately for all of us, Wumen suggests two, TWO!, sets of instructions here... choice!, isn't choice the best?

1 . Suspend river of discernment, expound the teaching of the one great scripture, then manifest the Use and be straight.

or

2 . Wait for Maitreya Buddha to come... which will take... let me see... somebody do the math for me... [googled]... right, 16 million years.

I hope everyone doesn't vow to quit Reddit and spend all their spare time on following Wumen's instructions! It would get lonely here in my mom's basement with nobody to preach to.
