Master Dahui observes people who doubt enlightenment.

In the monastic Zen communities of recent times, there is a kind of false Zen that clings to disease as if it were medicine. Never having had any experiential enlightenment them selves, they consider enlightenment to be a construct, a word used as an inducement, a fall into the secondary, a subordinate issue. Those who have never had experience of enlightenment themselves, and who do not believe anyone else has had experience of enlightenment, uniformly consider empty, inert blankness to be the primordial. Eating two meals daily, they do no work but just sit, calling this "inner peace".

Enlightenment is a real experience just ask Master Dahui!
