Is thought the problem?

Thought is an abstraction that generates division. I have read in some texts by Seung Sahn that thinking is what generates problems. No thinking, no problem.

The thing is: Without thinking, the human species would be non-existent. Even if you achieve freedom from thinking, you still need thinking and duality to be able to perform the simplest of tasks.

Could someone clarify why is thought seen as something negative in this particular tradition? I believe that if zen is searching for truth, thinking must also be included within this truth.
