Joshu: "Help, I'm alive."
Monk: "Do transient vexations point to buddha nature?"
Joshu: "Transient phenomena permeate your perceptions. The mother gives rise to both birth and death. Birth and death give rise to the mother. What are you in this?"
Monk: "Gotta go."
Joshu smiles.
Commentary: If everything is a fiction, is anything?
