Joshu Smiles Case 69 (Mu?)

Monk: "What is it like to smile?"

Joshu: "Help, I'm alive."

Monk: "Do transient vexations point to buddha nature?"

Joshu: "Transient phenomena permeate your perceptions. The mother gives rise to both birth and death. Birth and death give rise to the mother. What are you in this?"

Monk: "Gotta go."

Joshu smiles.
