Meta: You want a piece of /r/zen, wiki edition

Somebody suggested that /r/zen's wiki page, the index anyway, didn't prepare people for the experience of the forum.

What Zen Cases could we add to the page that would convey the spirit of what we achieve here? Or don't intend to surpass?

.

We also need to address this, which is a valid criticism as far as the admin side of /r/Zen works:

Add some warnings and recommendations. I mean the "Rules" section in the side bar says:

r/Zen is a subreddit dedicated to the Zen school and it's teachings.

There should be said about what is meant by this "Zen school". Like it or not, but in the west if you say Zen what comes to mind would be: meditation, peacefulness, soto, buddhism in general etc.

And then this confusion creates too much drama. I'd say, let's be clear here, if r/Zen should be just about Zen text and what Zen masters said, than state it clearly there. And let's define which Zen school it is [Bodhidharma lineage, passing through Huineng] "Four statements of Zen" aren't enough, Dogen's religion claims they take these 4 statements for theirs as well. And maybe some directions, like if you want to discuss meditation go to this and that subreddit, if you want to discuss sutras go there and there, if soto school there and so on.

Perhaps a warning about Japanese Buddhist schools, w/ brief explanations about the question of Dogen and Hakuin historical legitimacy?

I mean, there is a confusion among people what this "Zen school" in the sidebar is. You say something, others say something, but as none of you is a mod (and they let the quarrels be) there is no official weight in these claims. So it's basically claim against claim. And you spend your time more studying Dogen then Zen text just to prove your point.
