Help Finding Story: Zen Master Fishing

Hello all,

I have a story in my mind that I cannot seem to find again. I believe it's Zen, but it may be more generally Buddhist. Here's a basic, probably badly done paraphrase:

A Zen master of renown is out fishing by the river, where he lives as a hermit. A local leader (emperor? nobleman?) comes to the teacher to ask his advise on some issue. He is impressed by the Zen teacher's answer and invites him back to the palace, to live and work there as an adviser of sorts. The Zen teacher says that he prefers to be like the wild turtle, happily flopping about in the mud of the riverbank - no prestige, no purpose.

Any ideas?
