Hello,
In the sidebar it says that the word Zen/Seon/Thien/Chan comes from the sanskrit word "Dhyana".
And that comes from the pali "Jhana".
As some of you know Jhana is a state of meditative absorption that comes from extreme one-pointed concentration.
So, why are some people on this sub against meditation if Zen literally means a state that can only be attained through hours sitting still focusing on one object? Does this mean that Zen has another meaning? Possibly having changed throughout history?
Don't take this as an insult, I'm simply curious.
