A monk asked, "To be holy-what is it like?" Joshu said, "To dump a mountain of shit on the clean plain." The monk said, "Master, make this clear for me." Joshu said, "Stop fucking with my head."
NOTE: If we do not divide the world into "holy" and "unholy," there is nothing that can stain it.
My note:
All things are enlightened to the mind that is like a mirror. Clinging to concepts of holy or unholy divide. You can never lose this mind of light because you never had it, it is you. You use it every day if seen or rather it uses you unwittingly if unseen. This mind arises out of nothing. It is you and you are all things, why worry about phenomena that arises or doesn't arise, it's all the same in the great light.
From stardust and supernova, to the vast expanses of the universe, to miniscule atoms and planck length units. The function of space is to hold all phenomena. The immense heat and pressure in stars by gravitational force converts hydrogen into helium and releases photons. The gravity therefore gives a star its shine. The Buddha mind is like a Star that has gone supernova and converted into a neutron star while birthing others. It takes no account of enlightened or unenlightened.
