A scholar monk from Jo Prefecture arrived at Joshu's place. Joshi asked, "What are you studying?"
The scholar said, "Whether discussing the teaching, the commandments, or the philosphy, I can immediately bring forth an argument without cobsulting anyone."
Joshu raised his hand and showed it to the monk: "Can you argue this?"
The scholar was dumbfounded.
Joshu said, "Even if you can immediately bring forth an argument without consulting anyone, you are merely a fellow lecturing on doctrine and philosophy. This is not Buddha truth, however."
The monk said, "What the master has just said is the Buddhist truth, then, isn't it?"
Joshu said, "Even if you ask questions and even if you can answer them, it is still within the doctrine of philosophy. This is not the Buddhist truth."
The scholar was speechless.
Ok. Me and my not yet friend Ghostcipher or something, were having a nice debate about quantum mechanics on a thread that is deleted, but we kept having it. He told me to demonstrate. I just did.
Replace Joshu with me, the scholar with Ghostcipher.
He keeps insisting that I give him sources from peer reviewed journals or master thesis (philosophy and doctrine) for my own understanding of how something works that perfectly describes Quantum Physics.
I'm still waiting for him to prove his "truth". He has yet to respond with a simple logical answer that explains how quantum mechanics work, to me, that imparts a better understanding for it than I already have, for myself.
He will not give me any "theory" of his own. He will give me "doctrine and philosophy", which I know to well, and got me no where.
I have my Buddha truth for all the things I need it for.
