Maybe my memory has fuzzed the context, but it seems as if the usage was dependent on clarity. Zen teacher knowing it's an off day/moment tells truth of his clarity or notes offness in student. This mind is not buddha or ordinary mind is not buddha. On a great clarity day/moment truth of it still told. This mind is buddha or ordinary mind is buddha.
This could be a total misunderstanding of it's use but at least I've given an explanation of how I'm using it. This mind may or may not be buddha. I'm not crystal but have no bias. Comments will not change my view unless they actually do.
