Because I wanted to ruin my morning coffee I picked up the Book of Serenity this morning and started at the beginning. I tried to bring together Wansong's various commentary throughout and associate it with individual lines of the case. I have made no commentary here other than that of my choosing to associate lines to lines. Feel free to discuss or, you know, whatever you deem appropriate.
One day the world honored one ascended the seat
WS: raising the eybrows, becoming animated--in the teaching shops this is called 'ascending the seat' and in the meditation forests they call this 'going up the hall.' WS: looking, reflecting, and stretching is a roundabout way for the middling and lesser. WS: Today he's not at rest
Manjusri (bodhisattva of wisdom/prajna) struck the gavel and said, "Clearly observe the Dharma of the king of Dharma; the Dharma of the King of Dharma is thus."
WS: still needs to pull the nails out of his eyes and wrench the wedges out of the back of his brain before he will realize it WS: I don't know what's going on in his mind
The world Honored One then got down from the seat.
WS: Closing the door and sleeping is the way to receive those of the highest potential. WS: ...he makes his cart behind closed doors, when he brings it out it fits in the grooves WS: Deal again another day WS: The World Honored One immediatly got down from the seat at that; he saved a half, and imparted a half to Tiantong, whose verse says,
Tiantong:
*The unique breeze of reality--do you see? (WS: Don't let it blow in oyur eyes; it's especially hard to get out.)* *Continuously creation runs her loom and shuttle, (WS: Various differences mix in the woof.)* *Weaving the ancient brocade, incorporating the forms of spring, (WS: A great adept is as though inept.)* *But nothing can be done about Manjusri's leaking. (WS: Yin and Yang have no irregular succession; seasons do not* overlap.)

Yangshan asked Zhongyi, "What is the meaning of buddha nature?"
Zhongyi said, "I'll tell you a simile: it's like putting a monkey in a room with six windows--when someone outside calls it, 'Simian! Simian!' the monkey then responds. In this way , when called through all six windows it responds."
Yangshan said, "What about when the monkey is asleep?"
Zhongyi got right down from his seat, grabbed and held Yangshan and said, "Simian, Simian, you and I see each other."
