I have recently dealt with u/seigando asking me endless questions:
- Why would you do ABC?
- What is even XYZ?
I feel this is not Zen at all. Mind is unfathomable yet we use it and being stuck on the ungraspable aspect by questioning everything is not Zen.
Unfortunately I haven't found many cases dealing with this, where the monk is stuck in the void. Maybe this one from Joshu's teachings (Green's):
A monk asked: what about it when 'external form is disregarded'?
The master pointed to a water bottle and said, "What's that?"
The monk said: "A water bottle"
The master said "A fine 'disregarding external form' that is."
Any other things I could look at?
