Master Huanglong Xin said to an assembly, Bodhidharma’s school of mind has been transmitted up to the present without leaking a drop, without moving a hair.
But if it does not move at all, how is it transmitted? The precious seal stands for the subtlety of the teaching; layer upon layer of brocade, the stitching goes through.

ewk note: Mazu talks about this seal business, where what makes the impression is discarded and only the impression remains. Add to this layers of woven silk stitched together, how can we avoid a mess?
