The magnitude of human suffering is greater than the magnitude of human joy

Inb4 let me get out my suffering and joy scales.

Regardless, the greatest pain stings more than the greatest joy feels pleasurable. This comes from direct experience alone, nothing else, no books and I’ve never heard it before. Buddha loves to talk about suffering, must be important.

Why is it so, if it is?

Please provide a counter-argument if you feel this is a false statement. If you feel it is true, elaborate on why nature is setup in such a way. If you’re indifferent or think the statement doesn’t matter toward permanent realization of true self, carry on.
