A visiting monk asked: "In your sermon the other evening, you stated that everyone innately possesses the Buddha Mind. While I'm grateful for your instruction, it seems to me that if everyone were endowed with the Buddha Mind, deluded thoughts couldn't arise." The Master replied: "Right now as you're saying this, what delusions are there?" The monk prostrated himself three times and withdrew.
